The Royal Society of Chemistry is the UK’s professional body for chemical scientists. The Cambridge offices are home to the society’s publishing activities and main business functions with approximately 400 staff.
As part of a wider renovation and expansion project at the society’s Cambridge offices, there was a requirement for a number of existing and new meeting rooms to be brought up to date with the latest AV presentation and meeting room management technology.
Each meeting room was installed with an identical control panel (inside) and room management screen (outside) to ensure a consistent user experience, no matter which room was being used. The new meeting rooms are video enabled with H.264 compression webcams for UC conferencing and large format LCD displays for video and content. The largest space serves a dual purpose – As 2 mid size meeting rooms for 12-14 people (one with front projection and one with rear projection). A movable partition between the rooms can also be opened to create a large meeting space for staff meetings and events. The room also has digital send/receive links to other large venues on site so it can be used as an overflow space. The partition is fitted with a sensor to automatically adjust the AV and lighting systems.
