Dewar’s World of Whisky
The Perfect Blend of AV Products
DEWAR’S World of Whisky has its home at Aberfeldy Distillery, the only distillery to have been built by the Dewar family themselves. Completed in 1898, this beautiful building stands amidst glorious Highland scenery, producing a perfectly balanced single malt whisky.
When DEWAR’S World of Whisky opened in April 2000, it was hailed as “the ultimate Scotch whisky visitor centre”. It continues to introduce visitors from all parts of the globe to one of the world’s foremost premium whisky brands, and to the art of making and blending Scotch whisky.
Through films, interactive challenges and displays, the DEWAR’S World of Whisky exhibition tells the fascinating story of how a local family created a global brand.
The company’s pursuit of quality and excellence still continues today, and extends to their choice of audio visual products for their visitors centre.
DEWAR’s decided to upgrade the AV equipment in their visitors’ area. The previous equipment set up had been 4 projectors and screens. The new requirement was for a replacement solution that would offer large high definition screen and a single rear projection unit.
With the recommendation from their local audio visual supplier, it was the Stewart Filmscreen rear projection system from the A+K Brands of Distinction range that was decided upon as the best solution.
In selecting the Stewart StarGlas rear projection screen and a Mitsubishi FL7000U Installation projector, DEWARS have the perfect combination to showcase their brand to visitors and make the required visual impact with a spectacular HD 1080p images.
Available in single sheet sizes up to 3.2 x 6.1 meters, the StarGlas screen installed at Dewars measures in at 2 x 4 meters. This screen size was recommended as the best option to maximize the screen space available at the distillery. The screen itself is formulated to offer unsurpassed contrast levels, giving the Dewar’s visitors high-quality viewing pleasure.
The Stewart rear projection screen offers benefits such as a high level of soundproofing between the projection room behind the screen and the audience area. This means that the visitors viewing experience of the Dewar’s story is not disturbed by the ambient noise from a front facing projector.
The projection system was installed by Dewars local AV supplier. The equipment is used daily to communicate archival and current advertising and bring an interactive element to the traditional displays that surround the screen.
Dewar’s are extremely pleased with the improved audio visual setup in the museum area and the screens stunning image quality has been well received by visitors, who can now be even more engaged with the Dewars story.
