Installation notes! v1.36

-----------------------------------------------------

**Backward compatibility**

We recommend to always run matching version numbers of Evoko Home software and Liso firmware.

If you upgrade from 1.35 you can upgrade Evoko Home first and then upgrade devices.

If you upgrade from 1.34 or earlier veresion some changes in later versions will not be backwards compatible. In this case our recommendation is to first make sure your "API authentication" is set to "Secured" under "Global settings" in Evoko Home version 1.34. Then upgrade all devices to 1.36. When all devices are upgraded to version 1.36 you can go ahead and upgrade Evoko Home to 1.36. For the duration where devices are  on 1.36 and server is on 1.34 they may not sync any meetings between Evoko Home and device.

**64-bit and 32-bit versions**

64-bit installation of Evoko Home and NodeJS will from now on be the default for Evoko Homeon Windows. Previously we have only provided 32-bit versions, so for now we will also release legacy 32-bit version. It is very important that you must use 32-bit NodeJS with 32-bit Evoko Home - and 64-bit NodeJS with 64-bit Evoko Home - otherwise you may get an installation error when trying to complete the initial setup.

For new installations we recommend to use 64-bit versions.

For users that upgrade we recommend moving to 64-bit by:
  1. Stopping and uninstalling the Evoko Home service,
  2. Uninstall NodeJS,
  3. Install 64-bit NodeJS 4.8.0
  4. Install 64-bit Evoko Home.

If a you for some reason need to stay on 32-bit version you can still use -32-bit installer of Evoko Home and do a normal upgrade.

*Remote upgrade of old factory images*

When connecting a Liso with firmware v1.21 to Evoko Home v1.36 please first ENABLE legacy API authentication from global settings. Otherwise Liso will not be able to reach Evoko Home.

In case legacy API authentication is enabled after Liso is connected to Evoko Home, the Liso will appear on Monitoring page of Evoko Home but upgrade will not be possible. In that case please reboot Liso device.

A Liso with firmware v1.21 that is connected to Evoko Home v1.36 will appear Offline on Monitoring page once per minute, then after few seconds switch to Online again. This is due to compatibility issues between v1.21 and v1.36. This will not break the upgrade process but status notifications will disappear after first occurrence.
